Commercial

Tenleytown’s oldest surviving commercial building, built in the 1890s, is the two-story, part frame (stuccoed) and part stone structure at 4425 Wisconsin Avenue.  Many more commercial buildings date from the 1920-1940s, reflecting Tenleytown’s transformation from a self-contained village to fully developed neighborhood with residents who regularly commuted downtown for work.

In this section, we have collected some of Tenleytown’s most distinctive commercial buildings.
