This is a close up from G.M. Hopkins’ 1878 “Atlas of fifteen miles around Washington, including the County of Prince George, Maryland.”  Note the “Rockville Road” (predecessor to today’s Wisconsin Avenue), leading from Georgetown to Tennallytown.
