Frank Haendler, THS Board Member

Frank Haendler (1930 – 2018) was a long time and much valued member of the Tenleytown Historical Society Board.

His devotion to the Tenleytown community goes back decades.

Frank’s knowledge of our local history was deep and broad – there was little you could ask him that he wouldn’t know something, usually a lot, about as participants on his walking tours discovered.

A resident of the Grant Road Historic District, Frank was a co-author of the nomination which was approved by the Historic Preservation Review Board in 2002 and added to the National Register in 2003.

He never wavered in his belief in and support of historic preservation.
